Springfield Land Corporation will today announce a major
agreement with Europe’s leading provider of energy services, Dalkia, to
investigate opportunities to create innovative energy services for the new
digital city of Greater Springfield (currently 11% developed).
The Springfield Land Corporation’s General Manager –
Commercial Projects, Chris Schroor said the alliance would lift the Greater
Springfield City’s future-proof capabilities.
“We are delighted to be working with Dalkia and indeed
Veolia. We consider Dalkia to be a world leader and there is significant
synergy between the services Dalkia provide and the services that we require to
develop a world class and environmentally sustainable city. To develop the best
employment workplace and reduce total cost of ownership we need to have
industry partners. Through Dalkia, with mechanical services support from Siganto
& Stacey we have access to district heating and cooling solutions and
access to intellectual property gathered from a global perspective that will
ultimately deliver greater value to Springfield CBD tenants.”
“This alliance marks an important milestone in
the development of this digital city. From installing a dark fibre connection
to Brisbane and Sydney, to building one of the world’s best data centres, this
alliance now marks the start of an investigation into servicing our IT and
energy offerings to a high standard,” said Mr Schroor.
Greater Springfield
City is currently home to
more than 16,000 residents and is growing at approximately 3 families a day to
reach more than 105,000 by 2030. It is
planned and built with innovation and World-Class standards in mind to create a
city that benefits South-East Queensland and
its residents.
Mike Rundle, Dalkia Australia Chief Executive Officer
said the alliance would work to maximise the city’s World Class facilities.
"Springfield
Land Corporation is developing a unique city where residential and business
needs will be driven by future pressures on resources and the environment.
Dalkia, the Energy Services business of Veolia Environnement, is very excited
to be forming a strategic alliance with Springfield Land Corporation where
Dalkia will be able to offer expertise to manage these current facilities and
help design, build and operate future facilities,” Mr Rundle said.
Olivier Barbaroux,
Dalkia Chief Executive Officer said, "Together we see a bright future and
the opportunity for Dalkia to support Springfield Land Corporation in its
visionary developments.”
