With the New Year of 2008, brings a new era for Greater Springfield. For those of you who have driven around Greater Springfield recently, you may have witnessed our two towering structures taking shape. Springfield Tower - Greater Springfield's first high-rise (10 storey) office building is well underway to meet its completion date of July 1, 2008. With a significant part of Springfield Tower already pre-leased, the development of the landmark building is progressing well. Springfield Land Corporation is pleased to announce that Springfield Tower will become our National Headquarters.

Springfield Land Corporation, as well as all the tenants, are excited about moving into their new state-of-the-art accommodation by 1 July. One of the most notable features of Springfield Tower is its breathtaking views of the Springfield Town Centre and its panoramic views extending all the way to the Brisbane CBD!

Next to Springfield Towers stands the POLARIS Data Centre - this cutting edge building is a Joint Venture between Springfield Land Corporation and Suncorp Metway and is already 90% pre-leased. The Data Centre will host the mission-critical ICT systems of national and international companies and government departments, as well as supporting Greater Springfield's key infrastructure services such as hospitals, banks, supply chain management, e-mail and Internet.

ORION Town Centre continues to grow from strength to strength. ORION recently earned the honour of "BEST SHOPPING CENTRE IN QUEENSLAND" from the Property Council of Australia. MIRVAC is poised to commence the second stage of retail development within ORION, which will include TARGET, COLES and ALDI, plus another 80 retail outlets, which will adjoin Orion's existing 100 retailers. The second stage of ORION will feature a further 60,000m2 of development. With this phenomenal growth, it is only a matter of time before ORION becomes one of the biggest and most lauded shopping centres in the country, and indeed the Southern Hemisphere!

Springfield Land Corporation Chairman, Maha Sinnathamby, is truly passionate about Education. Hence, EDUCATION CITY is destined to become one of the most important developments within Greater Springfield. Testament to this is the opening in late January of St Peters Lutheran College, which has now made EDUCATION CITY home for their second campus - the first school in Queensland to have a dual campus arrangement.

The University of Southern Queensland continues growing and cementing its presence in Greater Springfield. As of Semester 1 this year, USQ will launch the Law Faculty, which will increase student numbers significantly. It is very rewarding for all of us at Springfield to know that since USQ launched its Greater Springfield campus three years ago, it has grown from a campus for 300 students to more than 1000 students! This is testament to the success of University of Southern Queensland and we congratulate them as they grow with every passing year.

Brookwater has become home to much more than its award winning Greg Norman designed Golf Course. It has also showcases an award winning residential community, which is now home to the Brookwater Gourmet Markets, which were so popular; they have now become a regular event.

The markets, which will be held on the third Sunday of every month from 6am to 11am, feature more than 60 stall holders showcasing the best in bread, organic food, fruit and vegetables and many other delicacies.

As always, Greater Springfield continues to live up to its reputation of "a city in the making". The liveability of a city is based only on its residents, and we are grateful for everyone and every business that have made Greater Springfield their home. As we continue to welcome people into the Greater Springfield family, we thank you for the passion and belief that you share in our dream. That dream is turning into a breathtaking reality, more quickly than we had all imagined.
