Greater Springfield
Why Greater Springfield?
A Perfect Location
Being a part of Greater Springfield means being part of a well connected city. Centrally located within one of the major growth corridors of South-East Queensland, the area is serviced by a network of excellent transport links.

Of course, with a city of this scale comes some big-scale transport developments – the $270 million extension of the Centenary Highway will bring the Ripley Valley and Cunningham Highway to within a 15-minute drive of the Greater Springfield CBD. Plus, the section connecting Greater Springfield CBD to the Brisbane CBD will be duplicated by 2015.

Greater Springfield advocates rail as the preferred public transport option with a new rail line between the Springfield and Brisbane CBDs planned. Springfield Central railway station will become a central transport hub, including a terminus and interchange at the Springfield CBD.

The South-East Queensland Regional Plan identified Greater Springfield as a ‘Transit Oriented Development’ because of its walkable and cycle friendly core with a rail and bus station surrounded by fairly high-density development, employment and recreational uses. And with further upgrades to the transport infrastructure planned, Greater Springfield will be even more accessible for everyone.
